Band tee's and pins are cool, right? Right. If there's one thing I love doing it's adorning a basic object or piece and making it my own. I was that kid who couldn't have a plain binder cover. I would spend hours cutting and pasting pictures from the internet and using various stickers to make cool collages of things I liked to put on the front of my binder. I felt like it made it more "me" and not like anyone else's binder and that made me happy.
I guess I have the same sort of idea when it comes to any type of denim or canvas jacket I own. I love cluttering them with pins and patches. It makes it more "me". I put this one of Bubs the cat because I'm a natural born cat lady and I like to represent my fellow internet famous cats and one of a tie-dyed peace sign.
On my travels across Italy a couple years back I had the pleasure of visiting Venice. Walking around the city and doing some shopping I happened to stumble across this underground vintage shop called Penny Lane. I immediately went inside and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was beautiful. Hand picked vintage pieces are always a treat to see. I was able to walk away with one piece as well as some buttons. Not only do I love the name of the store, honouring not only the song but also one of the beloved band-aids (Almost Famous reference) of all time but I also love it's retro feel. From the colours to the spiralling background to the font used in the name. I like to keep it on my jacket as a little souvenir from my travels.
I wore this outfit to school once upon a time when it was a lot warmer out. It's everything I love in an outfit. Leather, flannel, denim and a band tee. I picked up this shirt from an impromptu Urban Outfitters visit on my lunch break. It's different than any other Led Zeppelin t-shirt I've seen around. The flannel has the exact same pattern that my ultimate bae Robin Pecknold (from Fleet Foxes) wore so when I saw it I had to get it. To add a bit of texture to the outfit I added some leather leggings and suede booties to the mix. I feel like it completes the whole look I'm going for.
