Here's a throwback to earlier in 2014, around the summer, when the sun was a lot brighter and the days were a lot warmer. I can't remember where I was going (terrible memory probs) but it was obviously somewhere fancy. I absolutely LOVE this necklace. Now this is a statement piece if I ever did see one. This thing weighs an absolute ton but it's all in the name of fashion, right? I love everything about this necklace from the way it's been constructed to the colour scheme to the little pendants hanging off of it. Everything about it is visually interesting and I feel like it's so "me". I'm so glad I bought this piece too because I remember I had almost put it down, deeming it even too outrageous for my standards. But something in me told me to just get it, and I'm so glad I did. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this and that's what drew me to it as well. It's just a beautiful piece, all in all.
I paired it with this white chiffon maxi dress I got from H&M. As soon as I saw this piece in the store I was immediately drawn to it and the first word that popped into my mind was, "ethereal". Now, I'm the first to admit that I definitely have probably overused the word to the extreme but I'm sure we can all agree that it does give off that totally ethereal vibe. I felt super Aphrodite or Athena in this dress, something very Greek.
I brought out my beautiful hand-crafted leather bag I got in Mexico to top off the look as well as a gold cuff that I placed higher up on my arm.
To bring my faux feeling of Greek-ness to the next level I went for a gladiator sandal from Steve Madden. Be warned, these shoes are not the comfiest by any means but heck, they definitely tie the outfit together completely, so I couldn't compromise for something else.
I can't wait for the sunny summer days ahead. The feeling of the warm sun on my face, a cool breeze every once in a while is just what I need.
